A termite letter or wood infestation inspection report (WIIR) is an inspection provided by a termite company at the request of any of the interested parties regarding the sale or purchase of a house or commercial structure.
The inspection is for identifying either current or previous infestations of subterranean termites, powder post beetles, wood boring beetles or wood decaying organisms (WDO) (not molds and mildew).
Termite letters (WIIR) are requested by realtors, mortgage lenders, and home buyers. The inspection provides an inspection report and a 90 day warranty for a treatment. If the WIIR is provided by the termite company holding the current warranty, then treatment information will also be provided.
It is in your best interest to have this inspection done by a reputable company. A reputable termite company knows how to accurately detect and report previous and/or current termite infestation and damage and will not attempt to manufacture infestations based upon symptoms.
Patriot Pest Control takes pride in producing a thorough inspection and providing the best information possible on the inspection report. It is highly important to have a home inspected not only for the owner, but for a future buyer as well: an inspection needs to be complete prior to listing or placing a contract on a home in order to prevent selling or closing complications.
